Frequently asked questions

Short answers to the most common questions.

What it is for

Short answers to the most common questions, grouped by topic. Each one takes you to the page of the guide that explains it in full. If something does not work as you expect, see Troubleshooting; if you cannot find the answer, write to us.

Account and companies

Do I need to install anything?

No. Pixel One works in the browser of a computer, a tablet or a phone. See What Pixel One is.

Can I work in several companies with the same account?

Yes. Your account is yours, not the company's: you can own your business and be an employee at another one. You move between them with Switch company, at the top left. The invitations you receive appear in Pending invitations, on your companies screen.

Who can create an account?

Anyone, no invitation needed: sign up with your email and confirm it with the code you receive. See Create your account.

How many companies can I create?

Each account can have one company of its own. Once you have it, the app tells you so and shows our email: write to us and we raise your account's limit. You can join any company that invites you without creating anything, and those do not count against that limit.

Can I change the business type later?

Not from the app. The Business type creates categories, taxes and fields, and turns whole modules on, so it is chosen when the company is created. If you got it wrong, write to us: we correct it for you and it is recorded in the company's History. The same goes for the country and the currency. See Create your company.

Plan and price

How much does it cost?

There is one plan, Profesional, with everything included: US$65 a month or US$650 a year (two months free). Every new company gets a 30-day free trial, no card required.

What does the plan include?

Up to 10 users, 3 branches and 10 cash registers, with the point of sale and invoicing, inventory with lots, receivables and credit, quotes and orders, automatic accounting, payroll (Dominican Republic), reports and online support.

What happens when I reach the plan's limit?

Users count pending invitations too; branches and cash registers, only the active ones. At the limit, Invite, New branch or New cash register is disabled and the screen tells you why. Cancel an invitation, remove someone, or deactivate a branch or a cash register to make room, or write to us if you need more.

What happens if my subscription expires?

The app tells you that the company's subscription has expired. Write to us to renew it: your data is still there.

Your team and permissions

What roles are there?

Owner (one per company, full control), Administrator (everything except transferring the company) and Employee (only the permissions you tick, one by one or with a template such as Cashier or Store manager). See Invite your team.

Who can void an invoice or make a return?

Whoever has Void invoices. That permission covers voiding invoices, payments, credit notes and cash register cash withdrawals or deposits, and canceling orders with deposits, always with a reason that stays in the History. The Cashier template does not include it; Store manager does. See History and control.

Can I limit someone to one branch?

Yes. When you invite them, or when you edit their permissions in Members, you choose the branches they can work in.

Selling

Can I sell without opening the cash register?

No. Without an open cash register, the point of sale asks you to Open cash register. Each cashier opens a cash register at the start of their shift and closes it at the end. See Your first day.

Can two people use the same cash register?

Not at the same time. Each cash register has one open shift, and only the person who opened it can use or close it. For two cashiers, create another cash register in Cash registers. See Cash registers.

Can I sell something the system says I do not have?

Only if you turn on Allow selling without stock in Settings, Operations. With it off, the sale is rejected with the name of the missing product.

Which payment methods does it take?

cash, card, transfer, credit and split payment, plus a customer's store credit and the methods you create yourself (Zelle, PayPal...) in Payment methods. See Point of sale.

Does Pixel One charge the card?

No. You charge on your terminal (Verifone or another) and copy from the slip the Card brand, the Last 4 digits and the Authorization code. Pixel One never keeps the full card number.

How do I fix a sale that went wrong?

From the invoice: Return for what comes back, Exchange to swap a product for another, Correct price for a price charged wrong and Void to undo it completely. See Invoices.

Credit and collections

Can I sell on credit to anyone?

To a registered customer, never to the walk-in customer. The customer can have a Credit limit: a sale above it is rejected, unless you take a down payment with Split payment. A limit of 0 means no limit. See Customers.

A customer already owed me before I started with Pixel One. How do I record it?

With their Opening balance, on their record or in the customer import template. It comes in as a one-installment credit that you collect in Accounts receivable. See Accounts receivable and collections.

Can I show the customer the installments before selling?

Yes, with the Financing calculator, in the Collections group.

Inventory

Can I track lots and expiry dates?

Yes. A product managed by lots receives each lot on the purchase receipt, with its expiry. An expired lot cannot be sold. See Inventory.

Why can I not change a product's cost?

Because it already has stock: its cost changes through a purchase or a stock adjustment, not by editing it.

I have several stores. Does each one keep its own inventory?

Yes. Each branch has its own stock, cash registers and documents, and you move goods between them with a transfer.

Printing

Which printers work?

Any printer your browser can see: an 80 or 58 mm thermal printer for the ticket, or a sheet printer for Letter or A4. You choose the company's paper in Settings, Printing, and each cash register's in Cash registers, This cash register's printer. See Printing.

The ticket prints small. What do I do?

In the browser's print dialog, choose the thermal printer, the roll paper and the scale at 100 %. It is almost always the scale. See Troubleshooting.

Countries

Which countries does it work in?

The Dominican Republic and the United States. The country decides the taxes, the identity documents and the chart of accounts. See Dominican Republic and United States.

Does Pixel One issue electronic invoices (e-CF)?

Electronic invoicing is marked as coming soon. Pixel One will do it through Pixel Bill, which signs each receipt and sends it to the DGII; the Dominican Republic page explains how it is set up. Before connecting your company, write to us.

Is there payroll in the United States?

No. Payroll is Dominican (TSS, ISR, the Christmas bonus) and only appears in Dominican companies.

Data and languages

Can I bring my products and customers from a spreadsheet?

Yes, in Import data: products, customers and suppliers, with a CSV template for each and up to 5,000 rows per file. It is all or nothing: if one row has an error, none is written and you are told which one. See Load your data.

Is the app in English?

Yes. Each person chooses their Language in Your account; without a choice, they follow the Company language. Before signing in, the app follows your browser's language and you can switch it with the ES · EN selector. See Your account.

Can I print invoices in Spanish while I work in English?

Yes. The Document language, in Settings, Branding, decides the language invoices, quotes, orders, receipts and credit notes print in, whatever the language of the person selling.
