Getting started
What Pixel One is
How it is organized: the menu, the roles, the branches and the cash registers.
What it is for
Pixel One brings together what your business does every day: selling, getting paid, buying, keeping the inventory and the books. Each sale, payment or purchase is recorded once and Pixel One does the rest: it moves the stock, balances the cash register and posts the entry to the journal.
This page shows you how it is organized, so you know where to look for each thing.
Before you start
All you need is a browser. Pixel One works on a computer, a tablet and a phone, with nothing to install. If you do not have an account yet, start with Create your account.
The home screen
When you open a company you land on Home: the day's sales, the invoices, the average ticket and the margin, and shortcuts to what you use most (New sale, My cash register, Collect from customers, New customer, New product, Record purchase).
The menu
The menu on the left is grouped by area. You only see what your type of business uses and what your permissions let you open:
| Group | What is in it |
|---|---|
| General | Home and Reports |
| Sales | Customers, Point of sale (POS), Invoices, Quotes, Orders, Returns, and what your business needs (for example Work orders in a repair shop) |
| Purchases | Suppliers, Purchase orders, Receipts, Accounts payable, Expenses, Petty cash |
| Inventory | Catalog, Categories, Units, Taxes, Price lists, Promotions, Stock |
| Collections | Accounts receivable, Cash, Cash registers, Bank accounts, Payment methods, Banks |
| Accounting | Chart of accounts, Journal, Ledger, Financial statements |
| Company | Members, Branches, Settings, History, Import data |
In the Dominican Republic the Payroll and Electronic invoicing groups (e-CF, DGII reports) appear too.
On a phone the menu opens with the button in the corner, and every screen fits the width:
Several companies, one account
Your account is yours, not the company's. With the same account you can own your business and be an employee in another. At the top left, the company's name opens the picker to Switch company. Your personal details, your language and your password are in Your account, in the menu under your name at the bottom left.
Roles and permissions
Each person enters the company with their own account and one of three roles:
- Owner: full control. There is only one per company.
- Administrator: can do everything except transfer the company.
- Employee: only what you tick, permission by permission, or with a template such as Cashier or Store manager.
You see it in detail in Invite your team.
Branches and cash registers
- A branch is a location with its own stock. Every company starts with one; you can add more in Branches.
- A cash register is a point of sale with its cash drawer. Every company starts with Main register. Each cashier opens a cash register when their shift starts and closes it when it ends: without an open cash register there are no sales.
Every screen in this guide uses the same names you see in the app, in bold, so you find them without searching.
How to read this guide
Every page follows the same order: what it is for, before you start (what must be ready), the steps with screenshots, the differences by country when there are any, common mistakes and the next step. Click any screenshot to see it full size.
Common mistakes
- "I do not see a module this guide mentions." The menu only shows what your type of business uses and what your permissions allow. Ask whoever runs the company to check your role in Members.
- "I signed in and do not see my company." If you were invited, accept the invitation in Pending invitations, on your companies screen.
